This Privacy Policy explains how Kalvermesterij de Broekeld B.V. (“we”, “us”) processes personal data when you visit this website, request a quotation or do business with us. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we process
- Contact and quotation forms: your name, company name, email address, telephone or WhatsApp number, the products you ask about and the content of your message.
- Business relationships: the names, job titles and contact details of people at customers and suppliers, plus contract, delivery, invoicing and payment information.
- Website use: technical data needed to deliver the website securely, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs.
- WhatsApp, email and telephone: the details and content of messages you send us.
3. Why we process it and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare quotations: steps prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To perform contracts, deliver goods and handle invoicing: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To meet legal obligations, such as tax record keeping, customs, food and feed traceability, and animal health rules (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
- To keep the website secure and to maintain business relationships: our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Cookies and local storage
This website uses only functional storage that it needs to work. It remembers whether you have acknowledged the cookie notice and keeps your quote list in your own browser (local storage) until you send or clear it. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If spam protection (hCaptcha) is active on forms, hCaptcha processes technical data to tell humans from bots.
5. Who receives your data
- Service providers who host and maintain this website and our email, acting as processors under a data processing agreement.
- Logistics companies, surveyors, laboratories, banks, customs brokers and authorities, where needed to perform a contract or meet legal obligations.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, under its own privacy terms.
We do not sell personal data. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, for example to a buyer, carrier or authority in the country of destination, we rely on an adequacy decision or on standard contractual clauses, or the transfer is necessary to perform the contract you requested.
6. How long we keep data
- Enquiries that do not lead to a contract: up to 2 years after our last contact.
- Contract, invoice and accounting records: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
- Traceability and animal health records: for the periods required by EU and national law.
- Server logs: up to 90 days.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise a right, email contact@kalvermesterijbv.com. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or with the supervisory authority in your own EU country.
8. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and regular software updates.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
